Who is BreeAshley?
Hello!
Picture this: you are in a small town in the south-east part of Kansas. You enter into a beautiful home with two loving parents and two sisters. You first meet the father of the house, who is in the garage working on a car and jamming to Christian music. He shakes your hand; immediately, you feel welcomed into the family. He is telling you all the things he is doing to fix the car; he will throw a few personal stories into that conversation. He then will bring you into the house to meet his beautiful wife. She is cooking dinner for her family while listening to Christian music or she might have the tv show Friends on. She will be secretly cleaning/tiding the house while you guys are talking. Next, you see two sisters who are coming in to see who is here, and when dinner will be ready. You see the youngest sister is carrying a notebook and a book. You will see the oldest sister in her cheerleading practice clothes. Both sisters are shy and nevertheless, are polite to you.
Now that you have pictured it, this is my family. This is how I grew up, I had a very loving family who always went to church every Sunday and Wednesday. I am not a writer who will be telling you that "I had a hard life and accepted Jesus at a hard time in my life". I have been a child of God since I was 7 years old. I grew up always being surrounded by the love of God. Even though I have been a Christian since I was little, this does not mean I have not been through hard times. This is why I am writing, I want to share my journey with Christ through all of the ups and downs that I have endured.
So, this is me, Bree. I am in my 20s, learning how to grow and adult in life while walking with Christ. I am not an expert in any area, but I do know the experiences that I have been through has gotten me to where I am today. I am excited to share my experiences and journey with you all.
Philippians 4:4-9 (NLT)
"Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again-rejoice! Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon. Don't worry about anything: instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then he will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you like in Christ Jesus. And now, dear brothers and sisters , one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Thank about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me-everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you."
You may have heard this Bible passage before, it is very common and spoken about. I am an anxious, worrying person. Since moving out of my parents house and living on my own, my anxiousness and worrisome has gotten worse. This passage calms me and reminds me to pray. Praying is as simple as talking to God. Having a conversation with Him and being open and raw about your feelings. He is always listening and He wants you to know He is there with you.
One big thing I have learned so far in my life is to pray. Prayer is a huge tool that anyone can use.
Be real. Be honest. Be you.
